MISSION MATTERS

MINISTRY
OUR STORY
The most ancient communities of African Jews are the Beit Israel of Ethiopia, the Lemba of Zimbabwe and South Africa, and the Sephardi, and Mizrahi Jews of North Africa and the Horn of Africa.
Welcome to my journey! My husband and I have set out on a mission that we would love for you to be a part of. I am Leonie and my husband is Milton, together we are missionaries who travel to Africa.
It has become our duty to proclaim the gospel to the Jews first and then to the nations. Our missions spread the word of our Messiah Yeshua, Jesus Christ to his people in Africa in area's ranging from Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Africa, and the Caribbean. In order to be able to continue what we do, we need supporters like you to help us.
The Lemba people from Zimbabwe and South Africa claim to be descendants of the tribe of Levi who fled from what is now Yemen and journeyed south. DNA testing has genetically linked the Lemba with modern Jews.
The Beta Israel are Ethiopian Jews. It is believed that they are descended from the Tribe of Dan.
It all started in December of 2011. I attended a conference in Orlando, Fl where we viewed documentaries of the Ethiopians as well as the Beit Israel Jews of Gondar. It was evident that these Ethiopian Jews were in need physically and spiritually. While viewing the documentary I was moved with compassion and it was in that moment- the Lord spoke to me. The voice asked me, "What are you doing?" It was as simple as that. Once I realized the importance of this question and how it applied to my life, I broke down in tears. The following year I embarked upon my first mission and to say that the experience was phenomenal is an understatement. I served as a nurse on the team and treated diverse illnesses that ranged from dehydration, wound infection, lavage of the ear, ulcers, and many other skin conditions.

I also had the opportunity to proclaim the wonderful news of Yeshua to these people, some of whom have never heard of the Messiah before. It was indeed a joyful experience. Although I was not paid and the outreach was completely voluntary, I could not help the gratifying feeling they ignited within my heart. The next year, which was 2013, I went on a second mission to the same place, Gondar, Ethiopia. This was another amazing experience. Several people were healed; the blind was able to see, the deaf able to hear, people were delivered from sorcery, and hundreds accepted the Messiah as their Lord and Savior. I feel a deep indebtedness each time I visit these places. I am convinced without doubt that this is the mission that the Lord has placed upon my heart, I pledge to continue with God’s help to make a difference.
